Center for Scientific Studies and Consultations
The center conducts scientific and technological research, studies, and consultations for organizations and individuals locally and internationally in the fields of solving scientific and technological problems. It undertakes projects and contracts to address specific issues of scientific and technological nature, as well as service projects aimed at environmental preservation and pollution reduction from various sources. The center also provides scientific and technological consultations required by industry and service sectors.
The center is committed to providing specialized scientific studies and consultations that meet national and regional needs. It works to establish close links with the local and regional industrial sectors, public service institutions, and environmental protection organizations to raise Egypt’s social and economic standards.

Objectives of the Center
Conduct scientific and technological research, studies, and consultations for organizations and individuals locally and internationally to solve scientific and technological problems.
Cooperate technically with external bodies in implementing scientific and technological projects.
Undertake projects and contracts to solve specific scientific and technological problems as well as service projects focused on environmental preservation.
Participate in projects aiming to study scientific phenomena with national and regional importance.
Utilize the scientific and production capabilities of the faculty to serve the community.
Provide scientific and technological investments required by industry and service sectors.
Organize training courses, conferences, and seminars in industry and services related to the center’s fields of activity to develop human resources.
Support the various activities of the faculty departments that achieve the center’s objectives, leveraging the faculty’s research laboratories and scientific equipment to fulfill its mission.

Prepare environmental impact assessment studies for several companies in the environmental field.
Conduct consultancy evaluations for several companies across various scientific domains.
Geological, Geophysical Consultations and Natural Hazard Mitigation Unit
Objectives of the Unit
The unit aims to be an expert center offering geological and geophysical consultations to serve the community and promote environmental development. It also aims to develop the department’s self-resources, supporting educational, research, administrative, and service-production processes. Additionally, it seeks to increase the annual income of faculty members, their assistants, administrative staff, and department workers by utilizing the expertise of the department’s faculty members and collaborating with external experts to provide the following services:
Conduct detailed, structural, and geotechnical geological studies for various projects.
Perform mineralogical, petrographic, and geochemical studies of construction materials and contribute to restoration recommendations for archaeological sites.
Conduct petrographic and mineralogical studies of different rocks and minerals.
Estimate major elements in soft rocks.
Perform sieve analysis (grain size distribution) for sediments and clastic rocks.
Carry out geological and mineralogical studies and classify soil layers and bedrock before construction projects begin.
Study risks of rockfalls and flash floods, proposing appropriate mitigation solutions.
Evaluate various quarry raw materials.
Explore and prospect groundwater and mineral deposits using different geophysical methods.
Conduct water analysis and testing for wells and assess water quality for drinking and agricultural purposes.
Study the environmental impact of various projects.
