Solar Energy Unit (Under Construction)
The unit focuses on solar energy fields and functions as a research and consulting unit with both scientific and community-oriented objectives. It conducts research to develop the utilization of solar energy, provides consultations, and offers awareness programs to individuals, organizations, and companies. The unit operates under the umbrella of the Center for Services and Scientific Studies, Faculty of Science, affiliated with the College’s Community Service and Environmental Development Agency, yet it maintains independent administrative and financial status.
Objectives of the Unit:
Conduct applied research and studies, and provide technical consultations and services in the fields of renewable energy utilization.
Monitor modern technologies in solar energy to build research teams within the university capable of advancing applied scientific research aligned with the country’s and society’s needs for alternative energy sources.
Undertake fundamental and applied research projects related to solar energy technologies and applications from various sources, and implement experimental and applied projects.
Contribute to spreading the widespread adoption of solar energy technologies, and provide consultations to organizations, companies, and citizens on the importance of solar energy as an alternative energy source.
Assist in integrating solar energy sources within the national renewable energy system to help preserve the environment and sustainably meet future energy demands.
Conduct standard testing to issue certification for various solar systems and their components.
Publish scientific bulletins and disseminate research and studies in various fields of solar energy.
Organize training courses in solar energy fields to increase awareness of modern scientific methods.
Strengthen relations between Egyptian and international universities and specialized research centers to enhance scientific cooperation and exchange in solar energy research and applications.
Organize conferences, workshops, and seminars on solar energy research in collaboration with specialized centers at universities globally and locally.
