Objectives of the Center
The Space Weather Monitoring and Observation Center aims to contribute to supporting the Egyptian Space Program by training young cadres to accomplish practical and theoretical projects related to space research and satellites. In addition, the center provides scientific and technical consultations, facilitates the exchange of expertise and knowledge with various research entities inside and outside Egypt, and participates in local and international projects.
The center’s goals include providing the following services:
Contribute to supporting the Egyptian space program through conducting scientific research related to Egyptian satellites.
Participate in international projects and establish various space observation stations.
Provide technical consultations locally and internationally via the center’s official website and utilize a hotline service for consultation support.
Organize workshops, conferences, and training courses in various fields of satellites and space sciences.
Exchange expertise and knowledge with different research institutions.
Train faculty members in practical colleges on using simulation programs and computer operating systems that support different specialties in these colleges.
Participate in formulating postgraduate policies at Helwan University and other universities in the center’s fields of work to graduate qualified cadres capable of accomplishing projects related to space and satellite research.
Organize awareness courses on the center’s fields of work in academic and research sectors and publish materials highlighting the importance of space weather and related projects.

Ionospheric Disturbance Measurement Unit donated by Stanford University, USA.
Earth Magnetic Observation Stations (MAGDAS) donated by Kyushu University, Japan.
Ionospheric Observation Stations using Doppler Receivers (SIDAR) donated by the University of Texas, USA.
Solar Radiation Measurement Unit.
Space Environment and Remote Sensing Project.
Egyptian-American Cooperation Project in Space Sciences.
Egyptian-Cypriot Cooperation Project in Space Sciences.
Egyptian-European Cooperation Project in Physics.

The Board of Directors has the authority to establish new units as required based on the center director’s proposals and operational needs.
