"The First Exhibition of Sculptures from Recycling"

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Magdy El-Hegary, Dean of the Faculty of Science And the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Azouny, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs And the supervision of Dr. Rania El-Leithy, Deputy Director of the Training Unit at the Faculty The Training Unit affiliated with the Environmental Affairs Agency organized "The First Exhibition of Sculptures from Recycling" on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

The exhibition included more than 30 maquettes (sculptures) created by second-level students in the Biochemistry program and fourth-level students in the Biophysics program. The aim of the exhibitio was to develop their skills, excellence, and creativity by attempting to apply what they study in specialized scientific courses by creating maquettes or sculptures from recyclable materials.

Among the exhibits were (a model of an animal cell, a model of genetic material, a model of many chemical structures of different materials such as proteins, cholesterol, and triglycerides, a model of a cell wall, a model of the respiratory system, a model of the circulatory system in the human body, a model of a plant cell, a model of bacteria, and models of some human organs such as the stomach and spleen). The materials used in recycling included (cardboard, plastic, wood, wooden sticks, used pens, matchsticks, clay, reinforced cardboard, plastic glassware, foam, wooden pencils, donuts, balloons, felt). Prof. Dr. Magdy El-Hegary, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Azouny, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, inaugurated the exhibition.

The opening was also attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and a number of heads of departments and faculty members. His Excellency the Dean of the Faculty praised the students' excellence and creativity in producing the scientific sculptures in this wonderful manner.
