يقدم المعمل خدمات استشارات بحثية و فنية للباحثين الصغار من طلبة الماجستير والدكتوراة بمختلف أقسام الكلية والكليات المحيطه في جامعة حلوان. تتلخص هذه الخدمات في استخلاص، تنقية، وتوصيف المنتجات الطبيعيه من مصادر طبيعية عديدة مثل النباتات، الكائنات الدقيقة، والرسوبيات البحرية وغيرها، مع دراسة تأثير الفعالية البيولوجية للعديد من المنتجات الطبيعيه كمضادات للسرطان ومضادات للميكروبات. كما يقوم المعمل ايضا بتحليل نشأة وتطور بعض الكائنات الحيه الدقيقه المستخلص منها بعض المنتجات الطبيعية مثل البكتريا من خلال الحمض النووي الريبي (16sRNA) لها. ومن المتوقع ان يتم إعتماد المعمل كوحدة مرجعية وحصولة على جودة الإعتماد طبقا للمواصفه ISO 17025.
Marine Natural Products Laboratory
The laboratory provides several services including scientific and technical consultancies and training for the young researchers (Master and Doctoral students) in different Faculty Departments and other Faculties at Helwan University.
These services are represented in;
– Extraction, purification, and characterization of natural products from many natural resources such as plants, microorganisms, and other sources.
– Investigation of the biological effects of natural products as anti-cancer and microbial agents.
– 16sRNA phylogenetic analysis of some microorganisms from which the compounds have been extracted such as bacteria.
– Purification and characterization of the bioactive natural products using different purification techniques.
– Enhancement of the biological activities of target compounds using semi-synthetic modification techniques.
