A Salem finished a B.SC degree in Botany from Cairo University, Egypt in 1995 and Master degree in plant from Helwan University, Egypt in 2002, Ph D degree in Algae and physiology from Helwan University, Egypt in 2007. Demonstrator in Faculty of science (1995), Assistant lecturer (2002), Assistant prof. (2007). Obtained Associate Prof. degree 2015
